Ocean Universal in Cairns carries a big spearfishing selection. Makes sense — the shop was originally Spearfishing Superstore, and that side of things is in the DNA.
In stock you'll find rail spearguns, spearfishing wetsuits, carbon and fibreglass fins, low-volume masks, weight belts, floats, dive knives, and general spearo accessories. Gear is suited to tropical spearfishing — not imported cold-water gear that wasn't made for helpful resources FNQ.
The rebrand to Ocean Universal because the business had already added scuba and freediving gear over the years. But spearfishing gear hasn't been reduced. It's still a core part of the store.
Staff are local spearos and can help with what works on Great Barrier Reef spots.
